This season as well, Red Star FC continues campaign to end violence against women
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Coordination Body for Gender Equality Zorana Mihajlovic thanked Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) Football Club for continuing the joint campaign to end violence against women this year as well.
"Taking into account the fact that the coronavirus epidemic has also had a negatively effect when it comes to violence against women, and that the whole world is recording an increase in partner and domestic violence, the Coordination Body for Gender Equality and Red Star Football Club continue their joint campaign against violence this year. Tonight, we will send a strong message from the Rajko Mitic Stadium that violence against women is impermissible," said Mihajlovic.
She thanked Red Star for recognizing the importance of the fight to end violence against women and girls and for joining this socially responsible campaign in these increasingly challenging times.
"I wish victory to Red Star tonight, and a start of another series of triumphs in Europe in the new season. And I am telling all of us not to close our eyes to violence, not to turn our heads away from violence, but to react to violence and always report the perpetrators," said Mihajlovic.
The Red Star footballers will this evening play their first Champions League qualifying match against Gibraltar's Europa. The game kicks off at 9 pm, while a 17-meter-long banner reading, "Stop Violence Against Women" will be displayed on the east stand of the Rajko Mitic Stadium in Belgrade.
