Mileseva will be even brighter when a cross is placed on the hill: Helicopters to be used

For many years, on top of the Titerovac Peak, on a slope of the Zlatar Mountain in the immediate vicinity of the Mileseva Monastery, a Serbian tricolor has been flying, which all the locals are proud of. There has also been a long-standing idea to build a large cross on top of this hill, which would of adorn both the Mileseva monastery and Zlatar itself, writes the RINA agency.

"Recently, Bishop of Mileseva Atanasije gave his blessing to start preparations to carry out that endeavor. According to the project, it is first necessary to build a concrete, solid pedestal on which the cross itself would be placed later. Due to the inaccessibility of the terrain, the help of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia has been requested, in order to use helicopters to lift up the building material as well as the cross itself to the top," the Diocese of Mileseva has announced.

The Serbian Orthodox Church performed the act of solemnly carrying out the honorable cross, the Helicopter Unit of the Ministry of Interior with two helicopters visited the Mileseva Monastery in order to learn about the overall situation in order to perform this extensive, complicated and difficult project.

"A load test and a load lifting simulation have been done in the parking lot in front of the monastery, so that everything is ready and tested for safe execution. As everything went the best way, we agreed with Bishop Atanasij and the committee for construction that on Monday the entire team will be at the construction site again and that, with God's help, concrete would be poured into the pedestal for the honorable cross that will later be placed there," said the Diocese of Mileseva.

The Titerovac Peak is located at about 950 meters above sea level, so the cross will dominate this area near Prijepolje.
