Montenegrin state secretary reveals at whose request the country opened its border for Serbians
The state secretary in the Montenegrin Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, Damir Davidovic, said today that the opening of the border with Serbia was a request of the tourist industry.
He also told Vijest TV that there has not been a large number of tourists that have arrived yet, that interest has been expressed, but that there are limiting circumstances caused by coronavirus.
According to him, air traffic is expected to be reestablished, and according to the announcements, that will happen on August 19.
On Friday, Montenegro's National Coordination Body for Infectious Diseases (NKT) adopted new conditions for crossing the border for citizens of the United States, Kosovo, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia, as well as Montenegrin citizens who stayed in those countries.
It was decided that if they wish to enter Montenegro, citizens of those countries must have either a negative PCR test, or a positive ELISA antibodies test of IgG class.
