Take a look at what the monument to Stefan Nemanja will look like, on which 120 people worked

The famous Russian sculptor Alexander Rukavishnikov has finished a monument to Stefan Nemanja, which will soon adorn Sava Square in Belgrade. Four trucks with parts of the monument are already on their way to Serbia.

The monument to the Serbian Grand Prince Stefan Nemanja 1113-1199), made of bronze, is 24 meters high and weighs 68 tons.

As can be seen Sputnik's footage, the monumental work is in parts in order to be more easily delivered to Serbia, where it will be reassembled on Sava Square in the capital.

120 people worked on the monument for a year and a half. Alexander Rukavishnikov started his work after winning an international competition in Serbia.

About 50 people will be able to enter the pedestal, which represemts a Byzantine shield.

Visitors will be able to see engraved scenes from Nemanja's life and Serbian history.

The final works on the monument will take another three months.

The author wishes it to be one of the symbols of Belgrade, such as the Temple of Saint Sava.
