Belgrade's Ada has 5 beaches and they are all open: Additional measures, lifeguards warn about them
Measures brought by the City Institute of Public Health are respected at Belgrade's river resort Ada Ciganlija, and they are clearly displayed in every part of its beaches, the president of the City Assembly, Nikola Nikodijevic, has told TV Prva.
"We had a conversation with the people who manage the company 'Ada Ciganlija' and we agreed to introduce additional measures. We are working with a maximum number of lifeguards who, in addition to taking care of bathers, are warning about the measures that are currently in force - distancing, the use of disinfectant barriers in showers and of disinfectants. Ada has its five beaches and they are all open. The workers of Ada Ciganlija try to ensure that all bathers have their comfort, but also that they are safe," said Nikodijevic.
He stressed that the number of visitors is much easier to control at the city's public pools where there are clearly defined entrances, as well as at the Lido beach, which is reached via a pontoon bridge.
"Considering that people come to Ada Ciganlija from all sides, it's more difficult to determine their exact number. For that reason, we control whether people apply the measures adopted by the City Institute of Public Health, and they state that a towel cannot be placed next to another, unless this is about families with small children. Also, deckchairs in private facilities cannot be next to each other, and tables in hospitality facilities must be properly spaced. Inspectors supervise, and there are lifeguards who warn people about the prescribed rules. The vast majority respect these measures and I believe that together with the citizens we will succeed in overcoming this situation," said Nikodijevic.
