Woman set on fire by jealous partner in front of her daughter passes away

33-year-old M.M. who was doused in gasoline and set on fire by her common law husband Branislav Stanivukovic (43) on July 20, passed away today at 12:15 pm at the University-Clinical Center (UKC) of the Serb Republic (RS), Banja Luka daily Nezavisne is reporting.

The woman was hospitalized at the UKC on July 20, at the Clinic for Anesthesia and Intensive Care, where she passed away today.

Stanivukovic has been remanded in custody for this monstrous act. The crime happened in Laktasi, near the home of the victim's mother, and in front of her minor daughter.

Several years ago, Stanivukovic set fire to her mother's house.

According to unofficial information, the victim was at work on the fateful day, when he called her on the phone to threaten her, and told her to come to her mother's house because he had set her on fire again.

When the woman came with her daughter and saw that the house was not on fire, she allegedly headed back with her daughter, on foot.

Stanivukovic followed them and caught up with them on the road, where he poured gasoline over the woman and set her on fire.
