Vucic: Serbia will be among first 20 to pay for vaccine, we'll try to give it to everyone for free

Speaking about the coronavirus epidemic, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said that the numbers are getting better.

"I hope we can overcome it. The data is better today than yesterday, which will be discussed by the Crisis HQ. So, whenever we show seriousness and strength, with the help of our doctors and nurses, the results are good," said the president of Serbia.

He stressed that he can only ask the citizens to check how many people some country had tested in a day.

"If that country tested less, it has fewer infected people, and vice versa. That is why we convincingly test the most, and we are among the top four countries in Europe in terms of the number of tests," stated Vucic.

As he said, he expects that we will have a vaccine against coronavirus at the beginning of December.

"We will be among the first 20 countries that will pay for this vaccine and we will try to give it to citizens for free. As soon as it appears, we will do our best not to be the last in that circle," the president pointed out.

"All the numbers from Monday are better, also from what we hear from the doctors, in terms of the number of hospitalized people with somewhat milder symptoms. It's not time to relax, when we lower the number of deaths to below 3, below 5, then we will know that this worst wave had passed," Vucic pointed out.

He added that he is proud of the doctors and medical staff, and that he has nothing to add to that.
