Orange meteoalarm is on in Serbia: Weather dangerous for people and animals, tropical temperatures
After unstable weather followed by showers, thunder and hailstorms, tropical heat with temperatures up to 36 degrees Celsius awaits us today and tomorrow.
Due to the high temperature values, the orange meteoalarm is in force in almost the whole of Serbia, except for Vojvodina, where the it's yellow.
The orange meteoalarm means that dangerous weather phenomena have been forecast, and they are of such intensity that can cause material damage and be dangerous to people and animals.
According to the website of the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ), temperatures up to or above 35 degrees are a sign of a very dangerous weather situation, especially when this lasts for several consecutive days.
"Chronic patients, persons under therapy, medical control and metheopaths are endangered. Animals are also endangered. These weather conditions are very favorable for the occurrence of wild and other fires. Conditions for maintaining electricity supply are unfavorable and problems in traffic are possible," the RHMZ states.
It will be mostly sunny and very warm tomorrow as well. The lowest temperatures will range from 16 to 22 degrees, while the highs will be from 32 to 36, which is why the orange meteoalarm will still be in force.
