25 patients in critical condition at Military Hospital in Petrovaradin, 1,700 cases in Novi Sad
The epidemiological situation in Serbia remains unstable. An emergency situation has been declared in almost 40 cities and municipalities. Epidemiologists say that in recent days there has been relative stagnation in the absolute number of coronavirus patients, while it is to be expected that in the coming days we will have a downward trend in the number of infected people.
296 patients are being treated at the Clinical Center of Vojvodina and 27 more at the Military Hospital in Petrovaradin. Of that number, mechanical ventilation is applied to 25 patients and they are in critical condition.
Across the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, six more general hospitals have been turned into Covid hospitals, RTS reports.
The last official data for the territory of Vojvodina was published two days ago and, according to it, there were 131 new cases in 24 hours.
The director of the Institute for Public Health of Vojvodina, Vladimir Petrovic, told Radio-Television of Vojvodina that yesterday the number of newly infected people in Novi Sad had halved - it was 58.
A total of 1,700 people have been infected in Novi Sad, 4,000 in the entire province.
In addition to Novi Sad, the situation is bad in Vrbas, Sremska Mitrovica, Ruma and Kikinda.
