Greeks reveal they imported imported cases from Serbia, and the number is not low at all
Greek Deputy Minister of Civil Protection Nikos Hardalias has revealed how many coronavirus positive travelers have entered Greece since July 1.
Namely, a total of 918,032 travelers entered Greece by July 19, while a majority of positive cases were detected at land borders.
127,900 tests were done at 31 border crossings, which means that 13.9 percent of the total number of people entering Greece have been tested.
Of that number, 295 were positive. There are currently 53 active cases, while another 35 have recovered and decided to continue their stay in Greece after their hotel quarantine.
However, the country with the most exported positive cases was Serbia (78), followed by Bulgaria (63), Romania (61), Albania (23) and the US (6).
Therefore, a total of 225 out of 295 cases arrived from the Balkan countries, which is the reason why the Greeks decided to close its border for those arriving from Serbia.
