Nis resident Marko M. (48), whose body was found last night in Ivana Milutinovica Street in Nis, died of electric shock during an attempt to steal copper cables from a transformer station in the village of Krusce.

As Telegraf.rs has found out, he and three other companions went to a company in this village to steal cables from the local transformer station.

"He opened the station's door, grabbed a cable and suffered an electric shock, as a result of which he lost consciousness. His friends got scared, took him, put him in a Mercedes car and headed for Nis. They called an ambulance from the vehicle, however, by the time they arrived in Ivana Milutnovićča Street, where Marko lived, he had passed away. The terrified thieves threw him out of the vehicle, left the car and fled. They were found the same evening and explained how Marko got killed," says our source familiar with the case.

That the cause of death was electric shock was suspected based on a burn on his hand, which is characteristic of an injury sustained in that way.

Otherwise, Marko is known to the police for numerous thefts, and his previous name was Stojan A. However, he changed his name, probably to make it harder for the police to track him down.
