Meggle will not move production from Croatia to Serbia: This is the background of the story

The news that the German dairy giant is shutting down production in Croatia by the end of the year has upset the business community in that country, and raised the question of whether its production is moving to Serbia.

As Meggle Serbia told Telegraf Biznis, Meggle is not moving production from Croatia to Serbia.

"The company MEGGLE operates in several markets in the European Union and in the region, and since 2011 it has its own production facilities in Kragujevac. In every market where MEGGLE operates, the company develops independent and sustainable business models," we were told by the company.

As they say, due to multi-year of problems and challenges in the Croatian market, the Management Board of MEGGLE has made a decision to restructure its operations in Croatia and to shut down the production plant in Osijek by the end of this year due to unprofitable production.

"In Serbia, MEGGLE operates successfully, and in the past almost 10 years, over 15 million euros have been invested in the modernization of production in Kragujevac, and further investments are planned for the future. Every day, over 120 tons of raw milk originating from domestic producers and farms are processed in the factory in Kragujevac," they stressed at Meggle.

This implies that the shutdown of production in Croatia has nothing to do with Serbia, ie that the company will continue to operate in our country as before, according to the model it has in place for our country.

"MEGGLE Serbia is a responsible employer that today employs more than 160 workers with a tendency to increase that number. Continuous work on the development of new products, capacity expansion and ensuring the highest standards of product quality make us one of the market leaders," they say in Meggle Serbia.

As pointed out, MEGGLE Serbia is a reliable and responsible partner along with raw milk producers, as evidenced by long-term suppliers and customers, as well as all institutions from the local, regional and highest state level with which they cooperate.
