Disaster in Bajina Basta: Emergency situation, Healthcare Center closed, almost all doctors get sick

An emergency situation has been declared in the municipality of Bajina Basta due to the spread of the coronavirus epidemic. In the past two weeks, over 800 patients have been examined in the Covid outpatient clinic, most of whom had developed coronavirus symptoms.

Some patients have been diagnosed with pneumonia and they have been hospitalized in the Uzice hospital with moderate to severe symptoms.

Currently, 45 people are infected in this municipality, while one person died as a result of the infection. Results are awaited for another 37 samples which have been sent for testing.

Due to the difficult epidemiological situation, the hospital in the Healthcare Center in Bajina Basta has not been working since yesterday, because out of eight employees, six have symptoms similar to coronavirus.
