They are stars of protest in Belgrade: A blonde girl carried by her father rises above the crowd

This family won over te hearts of everyone who came to the protest last night. Shortly after someone lit a flare, and was booed for it, applause was heard and phones were turned towards them... It wasn't about any politicians or celebrities.

One father with a daughter on his shoulder could be seen through the crowd. Someone in the crowd exclaimed that they were the "stars of the evening."

Our photojournalist ran after them and stopped them to take pictures. They posed, and he jokingly asked them how many there were.

On the third night of the protest it was peaceful, "Gandhian." Many protesters were sitting on the street, but another part tried on several occasions to get people to stand up and be more active. Several flares were thrown, and a couple of strong firecrackers were heard, but all without consequences.

The protests started on Tuesday after the president announced that curfew could be reintroduced as an anti-coronavirus measure. The protests that tuned violent in Belgrade spread to several other cities where it took the form of protest marches and has been peaceful the last two days.
