The state pays out the last minimum coronavirus era wage in the amount of 30,000 dinars
Payment of the third minimum wage during the coronavirus epidemic for some 1,055,000 workers in about 232,000 companies in the country will begin today.
A minimum of around 30,000 dinars will be paid for workers in micro, small and medium enterprises, while half of that amount is intended for large companies. For that purpose, the state will pay around 32 billion dinars to the accounts of those companies that applied for assistance.
On the same day, many workers whose companies make payment immediately, can expect the money in their accounts. The practice so far has shown, however, that most employers pay the money a day after they receive it from the state.
The payment of the first minimum wage began on May 7, the second was paid on June 4; this is a state aid package worth about 5.1 billion euros to help the economy in eliminating the consequences of the coronavirus epidemic.
Who is not entitled to receive it?
Workers who are registered have the right to a minimum wage. The company that employs them had to be established before March 15 this year, and the condition is that it did not register a cessation of activities before this date, or during the state of emergency.
Thus, the minimum wage will be paid to those who have an employment contract, whether for fixed-term or full employment.
Persons engaged under a contract covering occasional and temporary jobs, as well as other persons engaged outside employment, are not entitled to the minimum wage. Seasonal workers are most often in this group.
What to do if employer asks you to return money?
Information has also emerged that there are employers who ask their workers to return between 15,000 and 18,000 dinars of the minimum wage. Trade unions have urged workers not to do that, saying that such employers will face penalties.
How was the first and second minimum wage paid out?
A large number of employers changed their salary payment practices at the end of March and announced that this would be the case until June salaries are paid out. The change in dynamics was influenced by the state aid, due to which many decided to pay salaries in two parts, 30,000 dinars as the second part, and the rest up to the full salary in the second.
In this way, workers were not financially damaged and the only difference compared to before was that they received their wages in two parts.
It's also possible for the employer to pay the entire salary, as before, while the 30,000 dinars wold be the second part as a salary supplement.
