Footballer Ognjen Vranjes arrested
Bosnia-Herzegovina and Anderlecht football player Ognjen Vranjes has been was arrested in Banja Luka after a fight about which the local media reported earlier.
The incident happened on Saturday at around 3:40 am, and along with Ognjen, his brother Stojan Vranjes and Zlatko Novljanin have also been arrested.
The suspects are charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm. The three allegedly attacked Dusan Komljenovic and his girlfriend.
Dusan had a tooth knocked out and the injuries inflicted on him have been characterized as grievous, while the woman sustained minor injuries.
"On June 20, police officers of the Police Administration of Banja Luka took operational measures and actions to identify and arrest O.V., S.V. and Z.N. on suspicion that they had committed the crime of inflicting grievous bodily harm. Namely, on the same day at around 3:40 am, two people reported to the competent police station that they had been physically attacked by three unknown persons on Krajina Square in Banja Luka," the police announced.
According to the Srpskainfo portal, Komljenovic is the son of the former director of the RS Geodesic Administration (RUGIP), Milos Komljenovic.
The District Public Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka requested that a report be submitted against the suspects in regular procedure.
