Grenell: Talks in Washington only about the economy, political dialogue should be led by the EU

US envoy Richard Grenell said that in this phase, which he calls the first phase of the dialogue, normalization of economic relations between Belgrade and Pristina must be achieved.

Richard Grenell says that he informed both the French and the Germans about that, and that the next, political phase of the dialogue should be led by the Europeans.

"I don't know how many times I have to say, even though I have been extremely clear that we, the United States, are convinced that the 20-year conflict can only be resolved through economic normalization," Grenell said in an interview with the Pristina portal Express.

Grenell explained that the second, political phase of the dialogue should take place when the first effects of the economy begin to arrive.

He said that he insisted and asked the Europeans to start visa liberalization for the inhabitants of Kosovo and Metohija, because, according to him, there can be no economic development without visa liberalization.
