Chinese experts warn before leaving Serbia: Tighten the measures, the epidemic is not over yet
A team of Chinese experts, who left Serbia last night after more than two and a half months staying here to help the country in the fight against coronavirus, warned that the virus was still there and that the epidemic was still not over.
Deputy Head of the Department for Infectious Diseases, Lin Binlang, told RTS that the most important thing is to understand that the danger is still present, that the epidemic is serious and that the virus is there.
"Due to the easing of measures, literally everyone relaxed, everyone's attention has weakened, including expert teams for the fight against the virus. To control the epidemic, we must keep a clear head and remain vigilant. Our advice is that where there is an increase, perhaps measures should be tightened, certain measures should be returned," Lin added.
Deputy director of the Institute for the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Peng Zhiqiang pointed out that the strictest prevention measures must be applied indoors and in institutions with sensitive populations, where many people are in one place.
"Student dormitories, homes for the elderly, hospitals, companies, everything must be under control. It is still especially important that the virus does not spread in such facilities. Each person should be checked, and when staying indoors, if there is no distance, masks should also be mandatory," he concluded.
Chinese experts arrived on March 21 with the first plane from China which delivered necessary equipment and protective material for the fight against coronavirus to Serbia.
The plan was for them to stay for two weeks, but they stayed for two and a half months. They visited Serbia from north to south, wanting to see the situation in the best way and help in the fight against coronavirus.
