Serbian volleyball player Aleksandar Zavaros was tragically killed after drowning in the Drina River near Bajina Basta.

The Volleyball Association of Vojvodina announced the sad news, at the same time paying tribute to the talented lad, who was born on October 2, 1999. Unfortunately, Sale did not live long enough to celebrate his 21st birthday.

He started training as a volleyball player 10 years ago. He competed in the pioneer, cadet and senior segments of Volleyballl Club Kulpin (Second League of Serbia - North).

He was seen as a promising volleyball player, but above all an extremely positive person, always cheerful and smiling - the Volleyball Association of Vojvodina is now saying.

His club OK Kulpin has decided to hold a volleyball memorial tournament in honor of Sale every year from this day on, on his birthday.
