These "urban bees" made their hive inside a spare tire - and drove round Belgrade all day long
The Belgrade Association of Beekeepers has announced the beginning of a campaign to rescue urban bees in Belgrade. These are wild honey bees, which make their own "hives" in different places.
These insects are very important for the survival of a healthy environment, so saving them is of great importance, too. But what do bees have to do with the Auto section of our (Serbian language) website?
Well - wild honey bees make their hive colonies in places that suit them - and one such place happened to be the spare tire of a car.
Beekeepers who are currently engaged in a campaign to save urban bees have found a swarm that had settled in the spare tire of a car.
As the Belgrade Association of Beekeepers announced on its Facebook page, the swarm rode the spare tire all day long, and even managed to build honeycombs in there. After a day of driving around Belgrade, the beekeepers managed to place the swarm in a proper beehive.
