"We will not get mired in that mud, we won't be stopping Montenegrin citizens at the border"

Today, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic attended a ceremony to lay the foundation stone for a future plant of the Kyungshin Cable company in Smederevska Palanka.

After the symbolic signing of the foundation stone, the beginning of construction was marked, and the president of Serbia then took questions from journalists.

About Montenegro's moves

Commenting on Montenegro's move not to open its borders to Serbian citizens and not allow them to enter the country, the president said that it was a political decision, but that he was convinced that it would change because their own interests will determine that.

"We will not go into that mud, we will not be stopping  citizens of Montenegro. We keep the borders of our country open, because that is in the European, but also in the Serbian spirit. All citizens of Montenegro are welcome, we have no problem with that. That does not mean that there is no anger and hatred among some people, but we will not take any measures," said Vucic.

He added that borders will be even more closed for people from criminal groups from Montenegro, but there will be no other restrictions.

Speaking about Montenegro Airlines, he explained that he doesn't know how Serbia would do what Montenegrins are doing.

Želim vam dobar i uspešan rad. Dobro došli u Srbiju! Ovde su dobri i vredni ljudi, voleće kompaniju i boriće se za nju. Živela Srbija!" - Predsednik Republike Srbije Aleksandar Vučić prisustvuje ceremoniji postavljanja kamena temeljca budućeg postrojenja kompanije KyungshinCable u Smederevskoj Palanci.A post shared by Aleksandar Vučić (@buducnostsrbijeav) on

"What can we do, to put people in a line and say you can enter, you can't - count their red blood cells?," said Vucic.

As he said, we thank them for showing what they think about us.

"People will choose whether to go to Greece or America, or Russia, wherever they want, and I will invite him to stay in Serbia. Everyone is welcome here, and we will behave like that," said Vucic.

As he pointed out, Montenegro did not allow a plane of Air Serbia to land in Montenegro (and Serbia reciprocated), but they can come by here by car as they wish.

About Grenell and dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina

Richard Grenell himself denied and said that there are no deadlines for reaching an agreement between Belgrade and Pristina, said the president of Serbia and added that the story that this would happen in November was made up.

"Our job is to be responsible, keep the peace and stability of our people in Kosovo and Metohija, to provide everything that is necessary for normal life in Serb areas, while I've been hearing these stories so many times that it would be stupid of me to comment," he said.

Investment worth more than 20 million euros

"Where Korean investments appear, you see economic progress of those countries, and thank you for choosing Serbia," said President Vucic and added that Turkey, Bulgaria and Albania were also "in the running" to host this company, but that Korean investors still decided to come to Smederevska Palanka.

The investment is worth more than 20 million euros, including the construction of a plant in the Guberas industrial zone, which will gradually employ between 700 and 1,000 workers. Production is expected to begin in 2021.

In Smederevska Palanka, the company will manufacture both parts for traditional cars, but also components for batteries, which will power high-tech cars.

Kyungshin Cables Europe is part of Kyungshin Group, whose factories are located in many countries around the world, while in 2018 the company started a strong expansion into the European market. The factory in Smederevska Palanka will be its European hub.
