If European countries introduce obligatory health passports, we will provide our citizens who want to travel broad with the possibility to be tested for coronavirus in laboratories in Serbia - but they will have to pay for that, says Minister Zlatibor Loncar.

He notes that the health (coronavirus) passport has not been introduced by any country yet, that it is still being considered as a possibility, and that Serbia is monitoring what is happening.

He says that different versions are being worked out. Some countries are suggesting that every passenger who enters their territory should get tested at the airport. That will have to be paid for, and the figure mentioned goes up to 190 euros.

The second version is that passengers can enter a country, but would have to carry proof of a negative coronavirus test. The test would have to have been be done within the previous 24 hours.

"We are preparing, if that becomes the option, to enable testing in one of our laboratories for the citizens of Serbia who want to travel. They will have to pay for that service. We do not want to restrict anyone's movement," said Lončar.

He stressed that testing for coronavirus is free for all citizens who have symptoms of respiratory infection and where there are indications that they should be tested.
