Finally good news from Cuprija: "Hotspot extinguished, over 160 people healed from coronavirus"
More than 160 people have been cured of coronavirus in Cuprija. Currently, there are a total of 63 patients, which means that the hotspot of coronavirus in Cuprija can be said to have been extinguished, said Cuprija Mayor Ninoslav Eric.
"This is far less than in the surrounding towns. There are 132 in Paracin and 122 in Jagodina with a tendency of additional increase. In the past five days, we've had only two new cases. We managed to do this thanks to the municipal Emergency HQ making good decisions on restrictive measures in a timely manner, and our fellow citizens were responsible and disciplined in respecting them," he said.
The Cuprija Emergency HQ has made slightly different decisions than the rest of Serbia when it comes to easing certain measures.
"Yesterday we decided that gyms, hairdressing and beauty salons should start operating again from May 4. We wanted this weekend to be extended to the May Day holiday and thus maximize the positive effect of isolation," he said.
Eric assessed the current situation at the General Hospital as very good, as the number of new cases and hospitalized patients has been falling in this institution.
"I have to say that our General Hospital is a regional institution that carried the burden of the entire Pomoravlje district on its shoulders. We managed to cope, now there is a dialysis service for COVID patients, so the situation has absolutely stabilized," said Ninoslav Eric.
Only two days ago, on April 26, the number of infected Curprija reisdent was 234, according to statistical data.
