President Vucic meets with members of two crisis HQs
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is meeting today with members of the COVID-19 crisis HQ, and another one formed to eliminate the possible adverse consequences of the COVID-19 contagious disease on the economy.
Vucic announced this on his Instagram account, along with several photos from the meeting.
The meeting is being held in the Palace of Serbia.
A post shared by Aleksandar Vučić (@buducnostsrbijeav) onView this post on Instagram
One of the topics of the meeting should be the issue of a curfew during this coming weekend.
The Government Health Crisis HQ has announced that curfew will run from 6 pm on Thursday until 5 am on Monday, based on the epidemiologists' views that contacts should be prevented during the May Day holiday.
According to media reports, however, government officials yesterday expressed concern over the dissatisfaction of a portion of citizens with the measures implemented by the state, as well as fears about whether a ban on movement during the May Day holiday will be respected.
According to unconfirmed information, President Vucic said that he did not understand that members of the government could not withstand public pressure, but that he was prepared for them to think about it, if the government thinks that the health of citizens should be put at risk, although the voice of citizens taking care of themselves and others should also be considered.
