Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met today with ambassadors of EU member states accredited to Serbia.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar, Finance Minister Sinisa Mali, and European Integration Minister Jadranka Joksimovic were also present.

After the meeting, the president of Serbia and the Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi addressed the public.

"We had a meeting today with all the ambassadors. We had a very long meeting. One, Serbia is extremely grateful for the European Union's financial and any other assistance, not only during the time of coronavirus, but also during the period when we fought the floods (in 2014)," said Vucic.

He stressed that they are very grateful to EU taxpayers and that this is a big deal.

"93 million euros have been approved for the fight against the pandemic. Significant donations for goods in excess of four million euros. We offered our support because we have some more protective equipment and ventilators. If they need it, we are ready to deliver it in 12 hours," says Vucic, adding that the plea was to pass the EU Recovery Fund as soon as possible, because the sooner the EU recovers, the easier it will be for Serbia.

At the same time, there is great cooperation on the return of citizens from the EU to Serbia and vice versa.

"Our trade exchange with the EU is 15 billion euros higher than ten years ago. That shows how much we rely on the Union. We are particularly interested in companies that will invest in Serbia," Vucic stressed, adding that companies have suffered great losses but are ready to continue working.

He stressed that Serbia is unequivocally on the road to the EU and that we want to harmonize our country with EU rules, and that the only differences heard during the meeting had to do with issues related to Kosovo and Metohija, such as it accession to ENTSO-E.
