Vucic: Everything starts working on May 4. Get ready, Roads of Serbia company has been asleep

Work is also being done on a sectoral program of measures

According to the IMF, Serbia will fare the best when it comes to economic growth, said President Aleksandar Vucic.

He said some people think that we are opening our economy too soon, but stressed that the state will try to go -1, -1.5, even better than the IMF forecast.

"We will do our best. If we can speed up the works, let the Roads of Serbia (public company) move faster because they have been asleep. They have been working but not with sufficient intensity. We need to accelerate public investment to increase GDP," he said.

Vucic added that budget revisions would be made, and that Serbia would look not to exceed the 7 percent deficit, so that we could implement all measures.

"An important regulation is expected to be discussed to see how the country can assist travel agencies."

Vucic stressed that it is important that other economies relaunch too, above all the US, as that affects us as well.

"Let them print that money as soon as possible, and have Trump distribute it," he added, noting that everything is global today.

He recalled that other shops would reopen next week, and "everything else" from May 4.

"Get ready, let's start working," Vucic said.

Speaking about the IMF package Serbia is not included in, Vucic said he was proud that we are not on that list, and that these are loans, not aid.
