Are Serbia's measures liberal or rigorous, and have they delivered results? "We are on our own"
At yesterday's press conference, Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar answered the question of Serbia's place on the list of countries that have opted for various measures - liberal or rigorous, and which is closer to what medical professionals and the state have chosen as their approach here.
"Unfortunately, what we have made appeals about has been confirmed, which is that this corona thing is global, not just a matter for Serbia. We thought it was necessary to unite countries all over Europe, not just the EU. I think it would have been much better had we all sat down together and then we would have avoided all these dilemmas and solved the problem faster."
"I hope someone will keep this example in mind in the future and be more prepared for some situations that will arise, and that they will pool all their resources together. Hopefully someone will learn this lesson."
"We have been left on our own this time, and the most important is the health and life of our citizens. We follow what is happening in other countries, based on the results, recommendations of the profession and their analysis, we will take further measures."
"We hear all the advice of others. We analyze them, but we will have to do what matters most to our mentality, to our people. It takes two weeks for the number of patients to fall below five percent so we could say we have a result."
"Until then, we need to be focused and respect the measures - there must be no contact," Loncar reminded while answering the question.
