President Aleksandar Vucic spoke by phone on Thursday with French President Emmanuel Macron, who said Serbia could count on France's full support.
The Presidency said the following in a statement:
- President Macron told President Vucic that Serbia has his full support, as does President Vucic himself.
He reiterated that Serbia can count on the absolute support of France, which also includes strong support for our country on its European path.
President Vucic thanked President Macron for the support as well as for the concern and human and state solidarity that he shows toward the citizens of Serbia, despite the difficult situation and a large number of patients in France.
He extressed regret over the death toll of more than 4,000 COVID-19 victims in France and hopes that decisive action by President Macron and the French government would succeed in fighting the scourge.

The two interlocutors agreed that we could only fight the pandemic by joining forces, and that friends, such as Serbia and France, could also rely on each other in challenging times.
President Vucic asked President Macron for assistance from France to the citizens of Serbia in the form of medicines and raw materials for the production of medicines used in the treatment of patients with COVID-19.
President Vucic and President Macron expressed their determination to cooperate in eliminating the economic consequences of the pandemic, and continue to work on developing strategic relations between Serbia and France for the benefit of the citizens of both countries.
