There are now 900 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Serbia

A total of 900 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been registered in the Republic of Serbia by 3 pm on March 31, while seven more people have died. So far, coronavirus has claimed 23 lives in Serbia.

From the previous report until 3 pm today, samples from 477 people were tested, 115 of which came back positive and 362 negative for the new coronavirus.

By 3 pm on March 31, 2020, a total of 3,561 individuals who met the criteria for defining the case have been tested in the national reference laboratory of the Torlak Institute.

Epidemiologist Predrag Kon said yesterday that the working age population, people 25 to 55 years old, make up a majority of cases in Serbia.

According to him, in Belgrade as much as 65 percent of cases belong to the 25-55 age group, while about 20 percent are over the age of 60.

Kon pointed out that in the first week of the spread of the infection in Belgrade, those aged 55 to 60 had been the most affected.
