Stefanovic: Measures apply to everyone. Let everyone think about the consequences of their actions
Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic spoke for Pink TV this morning about current topics, and especially about measures taken by the government of Serbia during the coronavirus pandemic.
"These measures apply to everyone. No one is shielded. Let everyone think rationally about the consequences of their actions. Yesterday we had extraordinary control in the whole of Serbia. Only 8 percent of people were not allowed to be out, many had an excuse, but they don't realize that we are protecting their lives. We have videos circulating on social networks, it seems funny, but it's not at all, they endanger other people's lives," said Stefanovic.
He added that scenes from Italy and Spain are obviously not enough to bring some people to reason and to understand that they should not act like that.
"We have a huge number of people who must be checking whether you follow the rules or not. We need discipline. This responsibility saves people's lives, saves the oldest citizens, and the lives of everyone else."
"It's easier for young people to heal from this, but they must act responsibly in terms of social contact. The disease spreads more slowly in cases where there are no contacts. These are the key days, these are the turning points now. We, in these days, need to show maximum initiative, so that in a few weeks we can say that we have better results. If young people move freely then that curve will jump sharply. Our doctors are maximally engaged, they have their families, they are tired, their energy will drop, won't be able to do their job if if we fill up the hospitals now thanks to irresponsibility, it's not fair," said Stefanovic.
