Djukanovic doesn't rule out possibility of changing controversial law on freedom of religion
Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic hasn't ruled out the possibility of changes being introduced to the Law on Freedom of Religion, with, as he said, good arguments.
He said it was good that dialogue between the government and The Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral (of the Serbian Orthodox Church) continued, but added that the implementation of the Law on Freedom of Religion would not be abandoned.
Asked if there could be dialogue to amend the law, the president said:
"We agree to hear good arguments, if we hear good arguments we will talk about it," said Djukanovic, according to Pogorica based portal Antena M.
He expects this dialogue to produce solutions that are mutually satisfactory, but at the same time stresses:
"We are ready to defend the principles on which we have passed the law, but we are ready to also hear good arguments from the other side," specified Djukanovic.
