Interior Ministry gets 111 new modern vehicles: "It will help police be more efficient in the field"
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic announced today, during the handover of 111 vehicles acquired by the Ministry of Interior for the Emergency Sector and other organizational units, that the procurement of modern vehicles has become standard practice thanks to which members of the MUP are even more efficient in protecting citizens.
"Almost every month we have some handover and I am glad that our members drive ever better and more modern vehicles, which will help the police be more efficient in the field. Today, the state is stronger and better thanks to the responsible policy of President Aleksandar Vucic and the government of Serbia, which is why we have more money in the budget, which enables us to strengthen our capacities," said Stefanovic.
The Minister specified that almost half of the vehicles handed over today will be deployed to fire and rescue units across Serbia and added that he was pleased because the promise has been fulfilled that special attention would be given to firefighters who, due to their courage and a large number of interventions, deserve great respect.
The rest of the vehicles, according to the minister, is intended for members of the police and other organizational units of the Ministry of Interior.
Stefanovic thanked the police for starting this year as well with great enthusiasm and hard work, which is why they deserve the MUP investing in further providing them with equipment.
"It is precisely the results of the Ministry of Interior that show the citizens that we are able to appreciate their trust. We will continue our serious and responsible work to further raise the level of security for citizens and our state. I am convinced that members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will with their performance justify the trust of the citizens and of the government of Serbia," concluded Stefanovic.
