We need America as a friend, not as someone "to go to the ring" with: Vucic after meeting Pompeo
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington today during his two-day official visit to that country.
He said that there are some in the international community that we are not clear with, but that we know where we stand with the Americans.
"There are some in the international community you are never quite clear with. With the Americans, you know everything. I know that we don't think the same about Kosovo's status, but I thank them for wanting to hear Serbia and understand our problems. I can't expect more than that," Vucic told reporters, before whom he came out with US Ambassador to Belgrade Anthony Godfrey.
"I thanks them for understanding our problems, for respecting us and for hearing us, we cannot ask for more," said Vucic.
Vucic should today meet with US Presidential Advisor for Homeland Security Robert O'Brien, as well as US Deputy Secretary of Defense David Norquist, and Senate Foreign Affairs Committee member Ted Cruz.
Aolso in Washington today, President Vucic could meet with the so-called president of the fake state of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, but this has not yet been officially confirmed.
