Ural owl was Belgrade zoo's resident: She was found stunned in Negotin, brought back to life
An injured Ural owl (Strix uralensis) was cared for at the Beo Zoo (Belgrade zoo) after locals in Stubik, a settlement in Negotin, eastern Serbia, found the bird stunned and unable to fly.
The zoo provided her with professional veterinary help and care, and after a successful recovery, the bird was released to the natural environment of the Djerdap National Park.
The Ural owl belongs to the category of strictly protected animal species. The Beo Zoo regularly participates in this type of project.
