Strong gusts of wind rip out trees from roots: Mini tornado sweeps through New Belgrade's Block 45
A severe storm that swept through Serbia this afternoon also hit Block 45 in New Belgrade, where gusts of wind were strong enoughh to pull trees from their roots.
Photographs that captured these scenes show broken branches of trees that fell under gusts of strong winds, which then also cut in half other conifers in this part of Belgrade.
As users of social networks are commenting, Block 45 today experienced a real mini tornado.
As previously stated by the Republic Hydro-Meteorological Institute (RHMZ), strong northwestern wind with gale-force gusts was blowing in Belgrade.
These gusts also damaged the roof of a building in the Brace Jerkovic neighborhood and lifted a tin roof, tearing down a brick chimneys at around 10:30 am today in Piva Karamatijevica Street.
It will be raining in Belgrade over the following hour, RHMZ said in the early afternoon.
