New investment: Serbia exports huge amounts of pumpkin seed oil

Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Djordjevic today visited the company JS&O (Novo Milosevo), which, as a new investment in the Serbian market, is involved in unique production of pumpkin products.

Djordjevic pointed out that by launching this facility 34 people got jobs while this investment will contribute to a more even development of Serbia, as well as employment of a large number of citizens from the town and the surrounding area. All this will also contribute to reducing economic migration, the ministry said.

The director of the company, Aleksandar Jeric, stressed that JS&O makes high quality virgin pumpkin seed oil - whose brand name is Olga, which has original culinary, medicinal and cosmetic properties.

"In the coming period, the range will be expanded to all products that can be made from pumpkin seeds," he added, noting that currently, because of the capacity of the factory and the number of workers, more than 90 percent of products are intended for export. Austria, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and France are particularly interested in buying them.

Minister Djordjevic said that Serbia is a better place to live and invest today thanks to fiscal discipline, creation of more favorable conditions for investors, as well as job creation and a lower unemployment rate.

"What is most important for our country is that we used to have to import such products, while we now have them in our own country, and as I heard, they are of even higher quality than those produced in Western Europe," he concluded.
