He's searched for in abandoned houses, forests, there's no trace: Dragan, 23, disappeared 4 days ago

Dragan Rankovic, 23, from Kragujevac disappeared on Tuesday after posting a farewell message on his Facebook profile. He was last seen on January 28 around 3 pm in Gornje Grbice.

A disturbing message was posted on his profile ahead of him going missing in which he ironically thanked "a great friend."

"My dear friends, I'm sorry we're saying goodbye in this way, I would like to thank my 'great friend' for taking me to a point where I have to deal in this way with the problems that have arisen because of him. Big hi from Batke," the Facebook message said.

Dragan's friend: No news

On January 28, Dragan disappeared, and todayhis friends and family are four days in since that moment, and since the search for the young man began. His friend Nemanja told us there was no news, and that the search was still ongoing.

"There is nothing new," he told Telegraf.rs, adding that he did not know whether Dragan disappeared on foot or drove away in a car.

Still, he thinks his papers, including his driver's license, are at home.

"It seems to me that his brother or father said they had his passport, ID card and driver's license at home," he told us.

The search is ongoing in Grbice, where the young man is from, and in the surrounding villages.

"Everybody who knows him is looking for him. We get together like this, we go through abandoned houses, through the woods to see if he might be hiding somewhere. But nothing, we have not found a clue," Nemanja repeats.

About "the great friend"

Nemanja says he has not heard of the person to whom the Facebook message was addressed.

"I don't know this guy and I didn't even ask to see who he was. The important thing is to solve this, and afterwards it's their business what happens. There are different stories, I don't know what's  true," he said when asked if it has been found out in what way said person was connected with Dragan's disappearance: "I am only interested in finding him."
