Germany, France and EU are not included but are welcome: Grenell on Belgrade-Pristina dialogue
US President Donald Trump's special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Richard Grenell, reiterated that efforts are currently under way to reestablish the talks.
Grenell said that his efforts have so far materialized in two agreements, about Belgrade-Pristina flights - a letter of intent has been signed regarding this - and about the Belgrade-Pristina rail route, the Pristina-based Gazeta Express reports.
According to him, neither Germany, France, nor the European Union participated in these agreements. Grenell noted that anyone interested in helping is welcome.
In a written response to Gazeta Express, the Federal Government of Germany declined to comment on US efforts regarding the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, while insisting that the dialogue should continue under the supervision of European Union High Representative Joseph Borrell.
"As a matter of principle, we do not comment on the efforts of our allies," said a spokesman for the German government.
He added that the federal government's general position has not changed and that they support EU's efforts to normalize relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
"It is expected that in the interest of both countries the dialogue should be resumed as soon as possible under the supervision of the newly elected high representative and his team," said the spokesman.
