"Barber of Malca" transferred to special hospital in Belgrade: His behavior described as normal
Ninoslav Jovanovic, 47, known to the public as the Barber of Malca, who is suspected of abducting a 12-year-old girl from Suvi Dol, was on January 23 transferred from a detention facility in Nis to a special hospital in Belgrade, Telegraf.rs has learned.
According to what we have learned, he was sent from a prison cell to a psychiatric ward for evaluation. This is about producing an expert evaluation of his liability during the abduction and behavior as he was fleeing the police, and his mental state in general.
"He was brought in late last night. His behavior is normal," says our source from the investigation.
The institution he is now in is not the Central Prison's hospital, as the media reported, but a separate unit that only shares the same building.
After the psychiatric evaluation, the investigation will decide whether to indict him, or go for treatment in a special institution, the source close to the investigation said.
The Barber of Malca was arrested after spending 17 days on the run after he allegedly abducted, raped and tortured a minor from Suvi Dol.
During that time, he was hiding in a dugout and was finally arrested on January 5 at the cemetery in the village of Malca, located about 20 kilometers from the town of Nis.
