Arrest in Stara Pazova: 5.5 million worth of goods found in warehouse, tons of alcohol

Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Stara Pazova and Sremska Mitrovica arrested I.R. (50) on suspicion that he committed criminal offenses of illicit trading and illicit trading in excise goods.

In a warehouse in the Stara Pazova area used by the suspect, the police, in cooperation with the Tax Police, found 8,511 liters of alcoholic beverages with excise stamps that are suspected to be forgeries, along with about 47 kilograms of coffee and a large amount of confectionery and other food products.

The total value of the goods discovered in this way is estimated at around 5.42 million dinars. The police also found 1,000 euros and about 207,000 dinars in the office of the warehouse, suspected to have come from the sale of goods, as well as dozens of excise stamps and liquor labels.

The suspect will be detained for up to 48 hours after which he will be taken before the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Stara Pazova along with a criminal complaint.
