New rail line: From Belgrade to Serb Republic
From Sunday, December 15, Srbija Voz (Serbian Railways) will operate under a new timetable with one new departure from Belgrade added to the list- that to Zvornik.
In this way, for the first time, a town in the Serb Republic (in Bosnia and Herzegovina) will be connected with the capital of Serbia.
Our Railway's trains started traveling across the Drina River after the completion of the reconstruction of the Sabac-Loznica railway when the line from Ruma was extended further to the west of the country, and then to Zvornik.
However, for the first time, a line from the Belgrade Center station is being introduced, so that in addition to Zvornik, Sabac and Loznica will have a direct rail connection with Belgrade.
Departures from Belgrade are at 14:02, and arrivals in Zvornik at 18:14.
Departures from Zvornik are at 07:20, and arrivals in Belgrade at 11:46.
It's good to keep in mind that the Zvornik station is located outside of this town, in Karakaj.
There used to be another line connecting the Serb Republic with Serbia, between Sid and Bijeljina. Nevertheless, that line was terminated a long time ago, probably due to the small number of passengers.
