Video of an accident in Slavija Square: Watch a driver ram his car into the fountain at high speed
A man crashed his car at high speed into the fountain in Slavija Square in Belgrade at 10 minutes past midnight. The car came from Kralja Milana Street.
Telegraf has learned that the driver was a 59-year-old man who was transported to the Emergency Center for resuscitation.
He suffered severe head injuries.
Broken granite plates
The fountain in Slavija was damaged on that occasion, according to the public company in charge of water supply and sewerage in Belgrade, BVK.
"Four granite plates have been broken and the drainage system and grilles on the drainage canal have been damaged. The fountain has been turned off and will not operate for the next few days for the duration of repair works," a statement said.
