Brandy for Putin worth 50,000 euros stolen: Ivanjica distillery offering reward for information
The Serbka brandy, that made it to the kitchen of Russian President Vladimir Putin's administration, has disappeared from the wearhouse the Savicevic distillery near Ivanjica.
According to the distillery, 2,000 liters of this brandy have been stolen. They were meant for President Putin's protocol. For this reason, the Office of the Higher Public Prosecutor in Kraljevo has gotten involved in the case.
The Ivanjica Criminal Investigations Department has launched an investigation under the order of the prosecution. Several persons have been detained for informational interviews as the investigation continues. Infoliga is reporting that it learned unofficially that persons whose initials are R.S. (51) and G.M. (55) have been repeatedly questioned. They were workers at the distillery.
According to initial information from the investigation, it is suspected that the distillery workers were stealing steal brandy on a daily basis - but since the quantities were small, this was not noticed.
After a certain period of time, the owner suspected that something was amiss, and made a calculation. The result shocked him because it turned out that 2,000 liters of brandy worth about 50,000 euros were missing.
Meanwhile, the Savicevic Distillery said they will give cash rewards to anyone able to provide verifiable information about the theft.
This distillery has been cooperating with the Russian Federation for five years, supplying President Putin's administration with this specially treated brandy.
