Is this Serbia's most beautiful observation deck? Unreal view from the mountain, here's its legend
An observation deck waas completed on Thursday on Mt. Mucanj, which is located near the village of Katici, some 30 kilometers from Ivanjica, with a view extending to the mountains Jelica, Ovcara, Javor, Golija, Gradina, and Ceslja.
According to Miloja Ostojic, manager of the Ivanjica Tourist Organization, the construction cost 590,000 dinars.
"The observation deck is one of the projects that we planned on this site, our goal is for it to receive as many visitors as possible, and we are moving toward getting those visits," said Ostojic.
According to legend, Mucanj (from the Serbian word "to suffer") was named after Saint Sava because he struggled a great deal as he climbed to the top of Jerina's Town, located at an altitude of 1,534 meters.
Below the very peak of Mt. Mucanj there is a fountain known as "Sava's Water" which locals believe is mysterious, sacred, and healing.
The scenes that will leave you momentarily breathless are the best invitation for all lovers of nature's beauty to visit Mucanj.
