Two persons from Serbia have been killed while climbing Mt. Lebrsnik. Their disappearance was reported yesterday, and after hours of searching, the bodies of the mountaineers were found by the Mountain Rescue Service (GSS) from nearby Foca.

The victims are Serbian citizens, whose initials are D.D. and M.M., the Foca police have confirmed.

Telegraf.rs has learned that these are senior mountaineers from Belgrade, who checked into the Mladost Hotel in the village of Tjentiste on September 1.

The very next day, September 2, they started climbing the mountain with the goal of reaching its highest peak.

However, from that moment, all contact was lost with them. Their disappearance is said to have been reported by one of the workers in the hotel where they were staying.

"Our team found them, but at this time we cannot give more information, since they were killed in the territory of Montenegro. We can only confirm that two people, citizens of the Republic of Serbia, have died and that lifeless bodies were found on a sipar (a steep erosion bed)," GSS Foca has told Telegraf.rs.

A car with Belgrade number plates was found in the territory of Mt. Volujak.

The investigation has been taken over by the authorities of neighboring Montenegro because the accident occurred on a part of the mountain located in the territory of this state.
