Americans submit sole bid to build Morava Corridor in Serbia

  • 0

The US consortium Bechtel-Enka was the only one to submit a bid to a public call for offers to build the Morava Corridor.

Bids were opened today for this project, and the Working Group set up by the government of Serbia stated at today's session that one bid had arrived by the deadline - that submitted by the Bechtel-Enka consortium.

After verifying that the criteria from the public call have been fulfilled, the Working Group will prepare a report to be submitted to the government of Serbia, which will decide on the selection of a strategic partner for the construction of the Morava Corridor.

The Morava Corridor will be 112 kilometers long and will connect Corridor 10 and the Milos Veliki highway with many towns in this area with about 500,000 people, including Cacak, Kraljevo, Vrnjacka Banja, Trstenik, Krusevac, Stalac and Cicevac.

In addition to the construction of the highway, the project will include regulation of the West Morava River and its tributaries, as well as the construction of telecommunications infrastructure.
