Dacic should be prime minister: Palma talks about Serbian government
The Serbian government has at least five ministers who don't even deserve to have a cup of coffee there, says United Serbia (JS) leader Dragan Markovic Palma.
"I will also say that in the Serbian Assembly, and ask them - how long will you be hiding behind someone else, what have you achieved, what is written in your work report," Markovic told Monday's edition of the daily Novosti.
Asked what ministers he had in mind, he replied, "I have in mind who I have in mind. Someone who likes to overdress and have their pictures taken."
When the journalist observed that when mentioning having pictures taken the mind goes to Minister Zorana Mihajlovic, Markovic said he wasn't talking about her and emphasized that she has had "a man's" result in her work.
As for the opposition announcing a boycott of elections, Markovic says that neither Aleksandar Vucic nor the government is a problem for them, but that instead, they are blackmailing each other.
"The opposition that has no MPs is blackmailing parties in parliament to leave. They have to accept it because they cannot cross the (electoral) threshold on their own. And so everything goes around in circles. The biggest problem for them is who appears on the (election) ticket under what number, because mandates are allocated in that way," he said.
Asked if he would vote for her if Prime Minister Ana Brnabic were a candidate for the position once again, Markovic said he was not thinking about that, and added that he thinks Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic should be the prime minister.
Speaking about a solution for Kosovo, Markovic said that what's in Serbia's interest is acceptable to him, that he is sure "Vucic will not abuse the interest" - and that the security of the Serbs is the most important thing.
