Red Star's current coach Milojevic breaks record set by club's legendary figure Miljan Miljanic!
Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) Belgrade coach Vladan Milojevic on Wednesday had his 37th game in Europe at the helm of the red-and-whites, who played an away game in Switzerland against Young Boys in the last round of UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
In doing so, Milojevic bested the current record holder, Miljan Miljanic, but also his predecessor, Branko Stankovic.
Milojevic has been the best Red Star coach in the last 30 years, leading the team to European competitions three times in a row, and once before managing to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League.
If one considers that this is today much more difficult to achieve than it was 20 years or more ago, then his success becomes obvious.
On Wednesday, Red Star drew 2-2 with Young Boys, in the first leg of the Champions League playoffs. The rematch is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27.
Thanks to the away goals rule, Red Star will need to win, or manage a 0-0 or 1-1 draw to progress to the group stage of the Champions League. If the second leg ends 2-2, the match will go to extra time.
