Jokic confirmed: I will play for Serbia at the World Cup in China!

Serbian basketball player Nikola Jokic confirmed that he will play for the national team on the World Championship and he will give his best to win a medal with the team in China. 

The former Serbian national team player has chosen to play for so-called Kosovo!

Jokic confirmed what was speculated for days in his statement for Tanjug.

- I am very pleased with everything I did in the NBA last season. I had a great year in which I performed at All-Star and was selected in the starting line up of NBA. For me, the crown of this whole season would represent a medal and I am sure that the national team of Serbia can win it at the World Cup in China, and I am fully prepared to do my best to achieve this goal - Jokic told Tanjug.

Jokic has won the silver from the Olympic Games in Rio in the Serbian jersey.

- As a selector, I have the obligation to compile a list of the best players in the best form, but also who deserves to be called on the preliminary list because of their attitude towards the national team. After that, the list is narrowed down and the players decide whether to play in the competition for which we are preparing. I've said this a long time ago: injuries are the only reason I will accept for skipping the national team- recently said the coach Aleksandar Djordjevic.

To recall, Serbia is in a group with Italy, Philipines, and Angola for the World Cup this year.
