The finals of the Cup of Serbia will be played on Marakana!
Now, it is for sure - the finals of the Serbian Cup will be played in Belgrade, instead of Nis! And at the Red Star stadium, the popular Marakana, it was decided after the meeting of the Competition Commission of the Football Association of Serbia. The executive board gave the authority for this decision!
Based on security assessments and better and quality organization of the final game, the Competition Commission reached a decision to have the final game scheduled for 23rd May in Belgrade instead of Nis.
Based on the instructions for determining the pairs of the final competition or the final match, in the presence of the representatives of the clubs in finals, it was determined that the game will be played on stadium "Rajko Mitic" with the beginning of 19.00h.
During the draw, the clubs supported the decision of the Competition Commission, and the clubs were represented by Milan Milijas from FC Partizan and Goran Negic from Fc Red Star.
Let's also mention that a similar situation was seen in 2017 when the FAS moved the finals from Novi Sad to Belgrade. And then Red Star and Partizan fought for the trophy, the Black and Whites won the draw.
